COVID‑19 testing requirements
All arriving passengers, including those from the ECOWAS region, must not have any symptoms suggestive of COVID‑19, including body temperature > 38°C.
They must carry a negative COVID‑19 PCR test result in English from an accredited laboratory in their country of origin. The test should have been done not more than 72 hours before the scheduled departure from the country of origin. For passengers who will be transiting through other countries before arriving in Ghana, the first country of departure will be the reference point. Passengers will not be allowed to travel without the valid negative COVID‑19 PCR test result.
Passengers will be subjected to a mandatory COVID‑19 PCR test at the airport terminal at a cost to be borne by the passenger, as indicated below:
· Ghanaians and ECOWAS citizens ‑ $50
· All other passengers ‑ $150
Payment MUST be made online here and proof of payment (receipt in English) shown to the Airline before boarding. Passengers who have not completed the process on‑line and do not hold a payment notification will be offloaded. There will be no exceptions.
All arriving passengers who test positive for COVID‑19 will undergo mandatory isolation and treatment at a designated health facility or isolation centre, at a cost to passengers, except for Ghanaian citizens. The isolation will be for a period of seven (7) days. However, the final discharge of cases will be based on existing case management guidelines and protocols.
All passengers who test negative for COVID‑19 will be required to continuously adhere to COVID‑19 safety protocols and will receive regular information on COVID‑19 within five (5) days of arrival in Ghana.

Required forms
All passengers must fill out the Ghana Health Form online before arrival.
Exemptions
· For Ghanaian residents who depart Ghana and return within one week, the passengers will not be required to present a negative COVID‑19 PCR test result from the country of departure, but they will be subject to mandatory COVID‑19 PCR testing upon arrival in Ghana (this is applicable for direct flights. However passengers connecting on any flight (for e.g. Accra‑ Dubai – Istanbul and return) may be required to hold a PCR test certificate.
· Children below 5 years are exempt from all test requirements.
· Children between the ages of 5 and 12 years are not exempted from the COVID‑19 PCR requirement before departure. The test has to be conducted no more than 72 hours before departure.
· Children between the ages of 5 and 12 years will be required to pay for testing at the new rates reference mandatory testing on arrival in ACC above.
· Passengers arriving under emergency circumstances such as diverted flights will not be required to undergo testing if they do not leave the airport or if they remain in transit such that they do not leave the hotel.
Diplomats
The following applies for Staff of Diplomatic Missions, International Organizations and Honorary Consuls duly accredited to the Republic of Ghana, including their respective family members:
· All arriving passengers must be in possession of a COVID‑19 negative PCR test result from an accredited laboratory in the country of origin. The test should have been done not more than 72 hours before the scheduled departure time from the country of origin.
· On arrival in Ghana, the relevant official or his/her family members (if any) must proceed immediately to their official residential accommodation and self‑isolate for fourteen (14) days. During this period, arrangements should be made for the Mission’s designated Medical Service Provider of the Ghana Health Service to test the official to confirm his/her COVID‑19 status.
· Members of the Diplomatic Corps who wish to subject themselves to the COVID‑19 PCR test on arrival at the Airport terminal at a fee and skip the 14‑days mandatory self‑isolation are advised to do so
Transit Passengers
Passengers transiting and transferring through Accra will not be required to take the COVID‑19 PCR test in Accra, if they are connecting on the same day and proceeding straight to the transit area for boarding. Passengers who are connecting on the next day are required to undergo the COVID‑19 PCR test in Accra and then clear immigration.
Transit passengers will be required to adhere to COVID‑19 testing requirements for the destination countries.
Other information
Travelling with pets into Ghana is allowed in line with guidelines of the Veterinary Services Directorate of the Ministry of Food & Agriculture.
Travel from Ghana
If you're travelling from Ghana, you may be required to take a COVID‑19 PCR test and submit additional documentation before departure. Please check the requirements of your specific destination before travel.
COVID‑19 testing requirements
Departing passengers are required to follow the COVID‑19 testing requirements of their destination.
Other information
All passengers will be required to meet the following guidelines prior to departure:
Departing passengers will undergo temperature screening at the entrance of Terminal 3 departures.
Only passengers and persons with business in the terminal will be allowed entry.
Online check‑in or the use of self‑service kiosks is strongly encouraged to reduce physical contact at the airport
